We welcome contributions from legal researchers, practitioners, academics, advocacy groups, institutions, affected communities and others working at the intersection of law and digital rights in the Global Majority. Whether you’re sharing a major constitutional ruling or a lesser-known decision with local significance, your input strengthens this database.

Submissions must include: 

Case Name & Date

The full official name of the case and corresponding date (s).

Case Status

The current status of the case; e.g., ongoing, appealed, decided in favour of the plaintiff, etc.

Jurisdiction

The country and jurisdiction of the case.

Citation

The official case citation as stated in court documents.

Court Level

The level of the court within the judicial system where the case was heard (e.g., High Court, Supreme Court, etc.)

Legal Instrument(s)

The legal instruments the court relied on in the case (e.g., legislation, constitutional provisions, treaties, or regulations).

Case Summary 

A concise summary of the case (~ 250 words) clearly presenting the key facts, legal question, ruling and significance of the decision.

Credible Sources

Legal documentation, reliable media sources, academic journal articles, etc.


Our Moderation Process

To ensure consistency, transparency, and accuracy, all submissions are moderated according to the following process: 

  • Submission Review: Each case is reviewed by our research and editorial team to ensure it aligns with our inclusion criteria and thematic focus (check out our themes and inclusion criteria).
  • Source Verification: We check source reliability and relevance. This may include reaching out to submitters for clarification, supporting documents, or additional context. 
  • Content Editing: We may edit submissions for clarity, consistency, and format but we preserve the substance and voice of the original. 
  • Attribution: Contributors are credited on each published entry unless they choose to remain anonymous. 
  • Timeline: From submission to publication typically takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the case and the availability of reliable sources.
